Lighthouse Hockey Guest Co-Hosts HNLI This Week!

HNLI Programming Update
The next episode of Hockey Night on Long Island will be Sunday May 3rd at 3:30 PM EST. Host Alex and Steve will recap the 2008-2009 Islanders season, preview the offseason and continue to discuss who the Isles should select with the first overall pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Of course, listeners are encouraged to call in during the show to talk about the Isles. Last week's episode was great with special guest Tom Liodice (TheTigerTrack.com) and can be listened to on the right sidebar. HNLI Game Chat & Post-Game Episode Saturday
Be sure to spend your Saturday afternoon with Hockey Night on Long Island as the Islanders take on the Boston Bruins in a 1 PM EST matinee.
GAME CHAT
While watching the game, be sure to log into the Hockey Night on Long Island chat room for Isles-Bruins banter throughout the entire game. Both HNLI hosts and listeners will be present and the discussion will be fast and furious. It should be fun so make sure you follow the instructions, make a listener account, and join the chatroom at 1 PM EST on Saturday.

Matt is the Boston-area chairman of the Professional Hockey Writers' Association and has followed the Bruins' beat for years. Needless to say, he should provide plenty of great insight.
In addition to talking about the day's game, the guys will cover all of the latest in Islanders country. The phone lines, IMs, and HNLI chatroom will all be open for you to give us your two cents, so be sure to interact with HNLI. HNLI Saturday is going to be a blast for Isles fans, so tune in right after the game for an hour of awesome hockey talk.

HNLI Post-Game Saturday
Be sure to tune into Hockey Night on Long Island this Saturday immediately following the Islanders' day game against the New Jersey Devils. HNLI will hit the airwaves at 4:30 PM EST for an hour of commentary, analysis, and banter regarding the game and everything new in Islanders Country, including the latest Lighthouse threats. BD + DO = HNLI Saturday
Hockey Night on Long Island is excited to be joined by two "two-letter" guests this Saturday afternoon for an awesome hour of hockey talk. First, HNLI is excited to welcome BD Gallof of hockeybuzz.com to discuss all the latest happenings in Islanders country. Included in the agenda will be a recap of Friday night's game in New Jersey, the latest Isles injury updates, the recent play of Joey MacDonald and much more. Later in the show, hosts Alex and Steve will be joined by D.O., a Sabres blogger, from the "Die By the Blade" blog to discuss Saturday night's contest against Buffalo. It will be D.O.'s first HNLI appearance since the Isles and Sabres met in the playoffs in '06-07. (I know it still hurts) Again, HNLI listeners will get the opposition's perspective on the matchup, which always makes for some excellent banter. Afternoon HNLI Saturday

After a mini early season hiatus, Hockey Night on Long Island will be returning to the air at its normal time, 3:30 PM EST, this Saturday before the Isles take on the Montreal Canadians. Along with special guest Tom Liodice of the New York Islanders Blog Box, hosts Alex and Steve will discuss all of the latest Isles news including the status of Rick DiPietro, a recap of Thursday night's contest against the Flyers, the Isles' new uniforms, a preview of Saturday evening's game, and much more. HNLI Double Header Weekend for Isles Season Opener
As all Isles fans are this week, we at Hockey Night on Long Island are extremely excited for the start of the 2008-2009 New York Islanders season this weekend. To add to the experience that is opening weekend, HNLI will be having a very special pair of episodes this weekend. While the puck doesn't drop on the Isles' season until 7pm on Friday night, hosts Alex and Steve will be on the air at 5pm EST on Friday to look ahead to the Isles' season, preview the evening's contest against the Devils, and of course take your calls. This should certainly be an exciting episode and a great way to spend your final hour of the offseason. Then, be sure to tune in again on Saturday at 3:30pm EST for the first regular season episode of HNLI. HNLI to Return for Training Camp
Now that the Islanders have announced that Scott Gordon will be the head coach this upcoming season, it seems like an excellent time to announce plans for Season 3 of Hockey Night on Long Island. Hosts Alex and Steve will be hitting the airwaves again for the start of training camp in order to bring you complete coverage of the preparation for the 2008-2009 NHL season.
