Episode Recap: Saturday Offseason Banter

Saturday's episode of Hockey Night on Long Island of course marked the start of the Islanders' offseason, but also was a lot of fun thanks to some great banter between Hosts Alex and Steve and special guest Andy Facini of the Islanders Castaway Blog. A large portion of the show discussed the NHL's scheduling and playoff system and how they can both be improved. Of course, a large amount of attention was given to Monday Night's NHL Draft Lottery, where the Islanders will have the opportunity to obtain the first overall pick in the draft and acquire young phenom Steve Stamkos. Call-ins from a few regulars ranged from Rick DiPietro and Wade Dubiliwicz to the play of Blake Comeau and Kyle Okposo, making for a very interesting episode.
